"Neighbors from a far /교실에서 만나는 먼나라 이웃나라"

Introduction:   I participated in a volunteer activity called “Neighbors from Afar/ 교실에서 만나는 먼나라 이웃나라" orchestrated by Seoul Metropolitan Government. The main objective of this activity program was to enhance mutual understanding and respect between Koreans and foreigners living in Seoul.  In this regard, I visited Unhyun Elementary School, to deliver lecture about my home country Pakistan (파키스탄). The audience of lecture were Grade-5 elementary students. Details:    The lecture start time was 9am in the morning; therefore I had to leave early from Kyung Hee University ( 경희대학교 ) Suwon Yeongtong. The journey was pretty smooth because of good transportation system. It took one hour to reach Anguk Station. We were greeted by school staff as well as couple of pleasant shouts from kids! The school was located at nice place with green lawns and trees surrounded by tall building. Mr. Donghoon Shin told us that hat we will be joined by JoongAng Daily news reporters ...

A rainy day out at Garosu-gil, Sinsa-dong

One rainy Sunday evening, I  visited Garosu-gil (가로수길) street located at Sinsa-dong. Gangnam-gu, Seoul (신사역-강남구 서울). The word garosu-gil literally means  literally means "tree-lined street". I was advised to go there during the day time, however, due to certain reasons I was able to visit at evening time. Surprisingly, the street termed as "tree-lined street" changed its perception and turned into a "rain cum romantic place" same as streets in Paris. The coffee shops with cozy outdoor seating placement let people enjoy the soft pouring rain with wonderful view of street under lights! Many people claim that this area is similar to Soho in New York or European street [reference: Wikipedia]. Rain has wiped out all the dust! It was start of spring season in Korea and cherry blossoms were not yet visible around Seoul. However, weather was getting warm and subsequently people were putting on spring clothes! The most attractive featured of Garosu-gil s...

SEOUL ( 서울 ) transportation systems is  well-designed and every tourist spot is co-located with a Subway station (지하철)or Bus (버스) Stop. So while surfing the internet you will get to know Subway station name along with exit no. / Bus Stop name under the Directions tab of any tourist spot.
